Genuine Laminate Flooring, Good Price 2026
Laminate flooring is made from natural wood powder combined with other specialized additives, pressed under high temperature and pressure to form boards called MDF (medium-density fiberboard) or HDF (high-density fiberboard).
The flooring has a multi-layer structure, with a scratch-resistant and UV-resistant coating on top, protecting the surface from wear and fading. The wood grain print film realistically reproduces natural wood grains like oak, walnut, teak, etc., bringing a cozy and luxurious feel to the space.

Currently, the price of laminate flooring on the market ranges from 200,000 - 400,000 VND/m² for popular and mid-range options. At about 30-60% of the cost of natural wood flooring, while still ensuring high aesthetics and a nearly equivalent user experience, laminate flooring has become a popular flooring solution for apartments, offices, showrooms, and other commercial spaces.
Laminate flooring offers an extremely rich variety of designs, even more diverse than natural wood which is limited by the specific characteristics of each tree species. Thanks to modern film printing technology, laminate flooring can almost perfectly replicate natural wood grain patterns, making it difficult to distinguish from real wood.
Besides traditional wood colors, this material also comes in many modern tones such as gray, beige, dark brown, or smoky colors. It also offers various installation patterns, sizes (wide plank, narrow plank), surface textures (embossed, glossy, matte), and click-lock technologies, allowing you to easily match any interior design style from minimalist and modern to classic.

Laminate Flooring
Unlike natural wood, laminate flooring is produced from wood powder pressed under high pressure, making it less prone to warping or shrinking with weather changes. This helps the floor maintain its flatness, ensuring aesthetics and durability for many years. Therefore, this type of flooring is particularly suitable for the tropical monsoon climate in Vietnam.
Most laminate flooring lines meet scratch resistance standards of AC3 or higher, making the floor less prone to wear from frequent foot traffic or moving furniture. Additionally, the tightly pressed multi-layer structure allows the floor to withstand heavy loads from cabinets, beds, sofas, or heavy furniture while maintaining stability.
Compared to stone-look vinyl flooring (2 - 6mm), laminate flooring is thicker (8 - 12mm), providing a softer feel underfoot and less sinking.
With a smart click-lock system, installing laminate flooring is quick and easy. No adhesive is needed, producing no dust or odor. Users can also easily remove and reuse it without damaging the existing subfloor.
This is the biggest drawback. Although high-end laminate flooring lines have been significantly improved in moisture resistance, they still cannot withstand water absolutely like ceramic tiles or vinyl flooring.
Consequences: If submerged in water for a long time or exposed to excessive humidity, the internal wood powder layers will swell, causing blistering or edge lifting at the click joints. In such cases, it is very difficult to restore the floor to its original state.
Therefore, Thien Ha Floor recommends not installing laminate flooring in areas prone to moisture such as bathrooms, kitchens near sinks, or balconies.
Lifespan: Laminate flooring typically has a lifespan of 10-30 years, while natural wood can last 50 years or more.
Cannot be Refinished: When the surface is deeply scratched or damaged, it cannot be sanded or re-varnished like natural wood; the plank must be replaced.
Artificial Wood Grain: The wood grain layer is printed paper, so laminate wood planks often have monotonous patterns. It does not create the natural, lively, and "one-of-a-kind" beauty of real wood.
Authentic Feel: When in direct contact, laminate flooring does not provide the warm, woody scent, and solid feel of natural wood.
Laminate flooring requires the subfloor (concrete or existing tile) to be perfectly level. If the subfloor is uneven, even slightly, the floor will feel wobbly after installation, the click joints may break, and it will produce an annoying creaking sound during use.
Many people mistakenly believe that chemically treated laminate flooring is completely termite-proof. However, the HDF core is still made from natural wood powder. If your house already has termites or the subfloor humidity is too high, termites can still attack and hollow out the core from below without you realizing it until the floor collapses.
Laminate flooring prices range from approximately 190,000 - 1,290,000 VND/m², depending on the brand, origin, thickness, core material, and surface/click-lock technology.

Here are 3 important criteria to help you choose laminate flooring that fits your budget and intended use, based on practical installation experience.
If installing in an apartment or bedroom: you can choose 8mm thick laminate flooring. Since apartment subfloors are usually flat and less humid, 8mm flooring (especially European line) helps save costs while maintaining a luxurious aesthetic.
If installing on the first floor of a townhouse or in the kitchen area: prioritize 12mm black core (CDF) laminate flooring or Malaysian imported laminate flooring. These are "super water-resistant" line, resistant to mold and termites from the ground.
If installing for offices, showrooms: choose affordable Vietnamese laminate flooring line to optimize investment costs, but ensure a wear resistance standard of AC4 or higher.

Popular segment (150,000đ - 250,000 VND/m2): suitable for rental homes, attics, or short-term stores. Vietnamese brands like Savi, Pago, Wilson are top choices.
Mid-range segment (280,000đ - 450,000 VND/m2): stable quality for long-term projects. You can choose Thai, South Korean, or high-end green core Vietnamese laminate flooring like Morser, Kosmos.
High-end segment (> 500,000 VND/m2): opt for European laminate flooring (Egger, Binyl) for exquisite beauty, or 100% imported Malaysian laminate flooring (Robina, Janmi) if water resistance is a priority.
Abrasion Resistance (AC) rating: for residential use, choose AC3 or AC4. For areas with high foot traffic, opt for AC4 or AC5.
Thickness: 8mm is suitable for small areas with flat subfloors (bedrooms, apartments). Whereas 12mm laminate flooring provides a more solid feel, better sound absorption, and is suitable for townhouses and luxury villas.
Emission Standard (E): for health protection (especially for children and the elderly), prioritize flooring that meets E1 or E0 standards (Formaldehyde concentration is almost zero).
HDF Core: Prioritize HDF core with high density (over 850kg/m³). The denser the core, the more water-resistant and load-bearing the floor.
Carefully check the warranty policy, quality certificates, and product origin to ensure 100% genuine products.
